The countries of the United Nations made a universal promise to leave no one behind in achieving a peaceful and prosperous world by 2030. Global Goals Week is a shared commitment between 170+ partners across civil society, business, academia, and the UN system to accelerate action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially during the UN General Assembly High-level Week. It is also an opportunity to speak out as one voice, share ideas and transformative solutions in the fight to recover better from global challenges. In 2024, the climate crisis continues to bring record-breaking extreme weather events that have affected millions of people across the globe – with a disproportionate impact on less developed countries.

Gracious and Loving Creator, As we gather during this week dedicated to the United Nations’ Global Sustainable Development Goals, we lift our hearts in prayer for the well-being of our world. We acknowledge the urgent need for collective action and compassionate commitment to the goals that seek to uplift humanity and safeguard our planet. We pray for peace and justice, that every person may live free from the fear of violence and oppression, and that equitable opportunities for all may flourish. We pray for the end of poverty and hunger, that the basic needs of all people, particularly the most vulnerable, may be met with dignity and respect. We ask for your guidance in promoting good health and well-being, ensuring that everyone has access to the care and resources necessary to thrive. Help us to support quality education, so that minds young and old may be enlightened and empowered to create a better future. We seek your wisdom in achieving gender equality, breaking down barriers of discrimination and fostering environments where every individual is valued and respected. We pray for the sustainability of our environment, that we may be good stewards of your creation, protecting our land, air, and water for generations to come. Guide us in fostering decent work and economic growth that lifts people out of poverty and enables them to provide for their families and communities. Bless our efforts to build strong institutions and partnerships, grounded in transparency, accountability, and a shared vision of a just world.
