From September to October 2023, the JPIC Team in the Indonesian Province carried out various activities, especially during the Seasons of Creation and the Feast of St. Francis. The JPIC Team worked closely with all the sisters in the community, the school principals, the head of the clinical unit, and the Junior Sisters. Each sister is actively involved in carrying out activities that have been organized by the JPIC Team, especially in carrying out acts of love for the community, school, and work environment. Below we describe some of the activities that took place from September to October 2023.

Seasons of Creation

With the theme “Let Justice and Peace Flow” the sisters in the Indonesian Province participated in the Seasons of Creation for five weeks before the celebration of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The activities carried out during September 1 to October 4, 2023. The Seasons of Creation prayer attachment three times a week in the community, doing community service together twice a week in each community, and carrying out a word service with a special theme sent by JPIC International. Word of worship is made by the JPIC Team in the Indonesian Province.

Feast of St. Francis October 

In order to celebrate the feast of St. Francis on October 4, 2023, the Indonesian Province JPIC Team made several activities in all communities and educational works. These activities are:

a. Short video competition

Videos about promoting love for the environment such as how to process organic waste, how to make eco enzymes, etc. All videos were uploaded on YouTube FCJM Indonesia and Tiktok. From there the committee assessed the more creative, interesting, and quality videos.

b. Photo and decoration competition 

Namely decorations without buying flowers. So only use potted flowers from their respective community gardens, schools and clinics. All decoration photos are collected and judged by the appointed committee in accordance with the criteria and conditions. First winner was Balige community.

c. Junior Skills Competition 

The Junior Skills Competition is a competition in which all junior sisters perform their skills to promote environmental awareness such as making handicrafts from used materials, planting organic vegetables, etc. All junior sisters report their skills for judging. A team of judges evaluate the most qualified and appropriate skills.

Special prayer for Israel and Palestine (Peace service) by annual meeting participants on November 16, 2023.

The JPIC team made a special prayer for Peace in Israel and Palestine and released the hostages. This prayer service was conducted during the annual meeting of the sisters in Monteluco Mother House. (Sr. M. Angela Siallagan FCJM).
