Vocation Sunday in Salima

Vocation Sunday in Salima

Archbishop George D. Tambala opened the Vocation Days with a Holy Mass on 15 March 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Salima. In his homily, he encouraged the young people, saying: “Young people should reflect on their vocation today, not tomorrow.”

Sisters and brothers from various congregations within the Archdiocese presented their communities and were available to speak with the young people. For the participants, it was a valuable opportunity to engage more deeply with the topic of vocation and to learn about different ways of serving God in the Church.

For us, it was also a meaningful occasion to make new contacts. We look forward to being present again with our postulants at the next Vocation Sunday, which will take place on 26 April in Salima.

This Vocation Sunday marked the beginning of a series of similar gatherings, where young people will have the opportunity to meet their peers and speak with representatives of religious communities from the Archdiocese of Lilongwe about how they can serve God through different vocational paths.

From our community, several sisters and all our postulants participated in the event and greatly appreciated the experience.
