The message of the Foundress of the Congregation,
Mother Clara Pfaender

---

Pray without ceasing before the Blessed Sacrament in perpetual adoration
becomes a precious quiet time. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is closely related
to perpetual adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Therefore, the main task
of the FCJM sisters is to pray and nurture a deep spiritual life for themselves,
the church, and the Congregation.

Prayer and Spirituality

The principal purposes for which Mother M. Clara founded our congregation is prayer and spiritual development. The Constitution states that FCJM was founded: “continual prayer for the Church, particularly through adoration of our Eucharistic Lord.”

Prayer is the breath of the soul, allowing us to spend more time with our Creator. Personally, we mirror ourselves before God who calls and chooses us. The message of the Foundress of the Congregation, Mother Clara Pfänder to “pray without ceasing before the Blessed Sacrament in perpetual adoration” becomes a precious quiet time. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is closely related to perpetual adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Therefore, the main task of the FCJM sisters is to pray and nurture a deep spiritual life for themselves, the church, and the Congregation.

Many people want to deepen their spiritual life, so the sisters provide a place and help facilitate their needs in the form of retreat and recollection centers. Thus, they are able to deepen their relationship with God the Creator, experience a more profound life, increase their faith and spiritual life.

In Wheaton, USA, the FCJM sisters have the TAU Center as a spirituality center. Through the TAU Center, individuals and groups may experience a peaceful and quiet space to pray deeply or strengthen their spiritual life. Writing, creating, praying, meditating, relaxing, or being sensitive to one’s inner voice in a soothing atmosphere.

In Indonesia, the FCJM sisters provide a retreat house as a spirituality center. It can be used by individuals and groups to hold recollections and retreats. Many groups ranging from school children, teenagers, to adults enjoy spending quiet and peaceful days of prayer there. They generally appreciate the fresh nature, the peaceful environment, the cozy prayer rooms, and the quiet location. The sisters offer facilities such as space, spiritual formation, counseling, food, and other necessities.

In addition, the sisters in other countries are also active in providing spiritual services with personal and communal prayers, such as the sisters in France, Germany, Netherland, and America who are always diligently praying for the FCJM sisters who are still actively working. They also pray for all those who ask for special prayer intentions.
