Solemnity of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary
HAPPY FEAST DAY !
As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we are invited to gaze upon the profound depths of divine love. In the Heart of Jesus, we behold a boundless ocean of mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. His heart, pierced for our sins, speaks of a love that knows no bounds, a love that sacrifices itself for the salvation of humanity.
In the heart of Mary, we see a reflection of this divine love, a heart that beats in perfect harmony with the will of God. Her immaculate heart, pierced by the sword of sorrow, reveals a mother’s compassion for all her children, especially those who suffer and are in need. Together, the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary present to us a powerful icon of love: a love that gives itself fully, a love that forgives unconditionally, and a love that transforms lives.
This solemnity challenges us to reflect on the state of our own hearts. Are we open to receiving the love that Jesus and Mary offer us? Do we allow their Hearts to shape our own, teaching us to love as they have loved us?
The Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us that love is not merely a feeling but a choice—a choice to give ourselves to others, to serve, to forgive, and to sacrifice.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary, on the other hand, teaches us the importance of purity of heart, of being fully present to God’s will and to the needs of others. Her heart, like Jesus’, is a heart of total surrender to God’s plan, a plan of love and redemption for all humanity.
As we honor the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, let us ask for the grace to deepen our own love for God and neighbor. May their hearts be the source of our inspiration, guiding us to live lives marked by compassion, forgiveness, and self-giving love. In a world that often values power and self-interest, let us dare to follow the path of the Sacred Hearts, a path of humility, service, and love. In a world that often prioritizes efficiency over compassion, the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary remind us of the transformative power of love. Jesus’ heart, overflowing with mercy and forgiveness, invites us to love our neighbors, even when they’re difficult to love. Mary’s heart, pierced by sorrow and yet overflowing with compassion, inspires us to stand with those who suffer, to comfort those who mourn, and to bring hope to those who despair.
May we, like Jesus and Mary, become instruments of God’s love in the world, bringing hope, healing, and peace to those we encounter. And when our hearts are heavy with sorrow or burdened by sin, may we turn to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, trusting in their love and mercy to guide us home to the Father’s loving embrace.
May we be a congregation that embodies the love of Christ, a love that is inclusive, merciful, and tender. May we, inspired by the encyclical of the late Pope Francis, Dilexit Nos, be instruments of this love, bringing warmth, comfort, and compassion to those around us. And may we work towards a more just and compassionate world.
“May our hearts be gentle,
Filled with love and compassion,
Reflecting the beauty of creation.
May we see the face of God
In every creature,
And respond with kindness and care.
As we journey through life,
May our hearts remain open,
Welcoming, and generous,
Embodying the spirit of love and peace.”
