Natural disaster ini North Sumatera and Aceh.
“On November 26, natural disasters occurred ini North Sumatera specifically Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli, and South Tapanuli, followed by another in Aceh on November 27, 2025. These disasters claimed many lives and caused extensive damage to homes, land, and other propertiesSumatra and Aceh are in deep mourning over these events.
In response, the JPIC FCJM Indonesia Team, along with the sisters and the National JPIC Team—which we refer to as INFO JPIC—acted swiftly. For several days, access to Sibolga and Pakkat was completely cut off due to destroyed roads. However, after one week, we were able to reach the area once access was restored, despite the hazardous conditions. Representing FCJM and JPIC Indonesia, we delivered donations and provided free medical services in collaboration with the Diocese’s PSE (Social-Economic Commission).”

“After several visits to provide assistance, we are extending our mission to support disaster victims in Aceh Tamiang. The location is quite accessible from Medan, roughly a four-hour journey by car.”If I am not mistaken, FCJM was the first religious group to arrive in Aceh Tamiang, collaborating with ‘Children of Sumatra.’ The situation there was dire—it could even be said to be worse than in Sibolga. While the road access remained good, the conditions on the ground were harrowing.
About 99 percent of the population there is Muslim. “Lately, we have been focusing our efforts on supporting the community in Aceh Tamiang, as they are in urgent need of assistance. From January 2nd to 10th, the National JPIC team conducted a free medical service program while distributing basic food supplies and household equipment. We even stayed in Aceh throughout the duration of the medical mission.””We plan to return there to continue our humanitarian mission.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the donors: Ministry fund and others and all the kind-hearted people who have supported us in carrying out this mission.”While our focus has extended to Aceh Tamiang, we remain deeply committed to the recovery of Central Tapanuli (Sibolga), South Tapanuli, and North Tapanuli—specifically in Pakkat, Parlilitan, and Garoga. The road to recovery is long, and these communities still face severe shortages of basic necessities. We invite you to continue your support so that we can reach every corner of these affected regions. Your generosity ensures that no family in Tapanuli or Aceh is left to face this crisis alone.”
