Canonical Visit of the Superior General and General Councilor of the FCJM to Brazil

On January 24, 2026, our Holy Family region joyfully welcomed our Superior General and General Councilor of the FCJM from Rome.

The canonical visit of a Mother Superior General and her counselors is a moment of great joy, strengthening, and spiritual renewal. The Mother and her counselors renew the sisters’ spirits, answer questions, make plans, and visit. In addition, during their visit, a series of evaluations are carried out, such as: community life, living the charism, and church norms, always done with much prayer, dialogue, and listening. All of this strengthens spirituality and the living of the charism, and the bond between the sisters grows, making them feel part of the whole congregation.

During these days of visits that the sisters had with us, we were able to experience moments of leisure and also of communion, including a meeting in which Sister M. Magdalena and Sister M. Emmanuela presented a slideshow about the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the sinking of the Deutschland, promoted by the Parish of St. Francis in Stratford, which managed to find our congregation for the celebrations. Furthermore, the sisters also visited our mission in Curuá, where they were able to see firsthand the work of the sisters who are there.

One of the highlights of this visit was the entry of two young men into the aspirancy on January 30, 2026, and the entry of two new members into the alliance group. It was a beautiful celebration that brought together the Brazilian sisters and members of the alliance, this time enhanced by the presence of Sister M. Magdalena and Sister M. Emmanuela from the General Council of Rome.

The FCJM sisters, present in Brazil, feel grateful for these moments of grace, in which they feel their faith and hope renewed, to continue living the Gospel.
