January 12, 2025, the FCJM sisters in Malawi held the opening of the formation house in Natomba parish, Dowa. The celebration was attended by hundreds of parishioners, the FCJM general board, FCJM of the German and Indonesian provinces. The service of thanksgiving and the opening of the formation house was presided over by the bishop. The sisters have for many years had a wonderful mission and ministry in the district of Madisi, Dowa. We all hope that the opening of the formation house in Dowa will bring blessings to the church and the FCJM congregation.

After 53 years of service in the house of the Franciscan Sisters in Madisi, it is time to express our gratitude for her service. On January 28, 2025 we held a party and banquet. Miss Solia gave her attention and energy to help our sisters in Madisi especially in the community kitchen.  On behalf of the community and the congregation our sisters bid her farewell and wish her many blessings in her life.

The bamboo planting project is slowly bearing good fruit. after one month of planting now our sisters and the community can use bamboo as firewood. With the presence of bamboo trees, the community no longer cuts trees for firewood. We hope that the planting of bamboo trees can help the community overcome the problem of firewood and no longer cut down trees for firewood.

The daily life with Sr.Kristella sewing different types of handbags. This handbag sewing activity educates the community to have other skills such as sewing. We see this as a blessing for the community and the people.
