Internal Reading about Sister M. Ruth Tümmeler

Safed Ulrike Dreekmann studied communication science and German in Munich and Cologne and is a state-certified speech therapist. Since 2008, she has worked as a speech and voice instructor at the Cologne Theater Academy. She is a painter, writer, and speaker, and she loves to sing – often in public. In addition to these diverse activities, she was also the speech therapist for our Sister M. Ruth Tümmeler at the Marialinden retirement home. The two shared a deep friendship and planned to publish a book about Sister M. Ruth’s writings. This book has now been published and is titled “God at the End of the Flagpole – Nothing of Importance.” She told us sisters about the creation of this book, which contains poems and the last words spoken to her before Sister M. Ruth’s death, and read these poems and words like a legacy. She also showed us pictures she had painted herself, thus bringing to life the profound thoughts of our fellow sister. Everyone was deeply impressed and touched.
