Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (FCJM) was founded by Mother Maria Clara Pfaender on October 30, 1860 in Olpe, Germany. On this date, the Founding Constitution of the FCJM was approved by Bishop Konrad Martin, who served as Bishop of the Diocese of Paderborn. The date of the approval of the Constitution was designated as the Founding Day of the Congregation.
