From July 7 to 11, 2026, an iconography course took place at the Sisters’ Convent in Caransebeș, bringing together consecrated persons from various religious orders alongside lay faithful eager to deepen their encounter with God through sacred art.

The retreat-style workshop was led by Fr. Isaac Vela, a Greek Catholic monk, who guided the participants both in the traditional techniques of icon painting and in contemplating the theological and symbolic depth of icons within Christian tradition.

Held in a quiet atmosphere of recollection, prayer, and warm communion, the course harmoniously combined artistic learning with spiritual formation, offering all present a meaningful grace of quiet reflection, community, and closeness to God through holy icons.
