From their very foundation, they were known for their deep concern for the orphaned children of Olpe, so much so that they were referred to as the “Orphan Sisters.” The FCJM was founded amidst great adversities. Numerous severe difficulties were experienced by the founding sisters from the early days of the Congregation, but Mother Clara’s vision and her trust in God were remarkable (FC 14). Difficulties and challenges turned into opportunities for them to experience God’s endless love.
