A New Beginning Filled with Gratitude in Dowa, Malawi

A New Beginning Filled with Gratitude in Dowa, Malawi

On September 14, 2026, St. Francis Kindergarten in Dowa, Malawi, was officially opened. It is a small beginning that brings great hope to the children and families of Dowa.

The day after the opening, St. Francis Kindergarten was blessed in a special celebration led by two priests from Nanthomba Parish. The joyful occasion was attended by the Sisters, postulants in Dowa, and the parents of the children.

At this early stage, 30 children have joined the kindergarten and are learning together in one class under the guidance of one teacher. Seeing the joyful and enthusiastic faces of these young children reminds us that education is one simple yet meaningful way of planting seeds of hope and building a better future.

The presence of this kindergarten has also been warmly welcomed and supported by the parents and the local community in Dowa. We are deeply grateful for their trust, cooperation, and support.

May St. Francis Kindergarten continue to grow as a place where children learn, flourish, and experience God’s love and care. We entrust this new beginning to God, asking His blessing upon the children, teachers, parents, and all those who journey with them, so that this small seed may grow into a lasting source of hope and blessing for many families.

From Dowa, a small seed has been planted. May this little seed, by God’s grace, grow into a tree of hope for many children and families.
