For the Holy Year 2025, the Archbishop of Paderborn has named twelve places of hope in the archdiocese. Our St. Francis retirement home is a place of hope for the sick and carers. They all deserve special appreciation and respect, because through their work they are a beacon of hope for residents and their relatives.

Numerous offers and regular church services, e.g. to bid farewell to the deceased or on other occasions, are very popular. Children and teachers from the kindergarten occasionally take part in the services. A number of festivals and celebrations take place throughout the year, as well as an Easter and Advent market.

In March, some residents took part in a Holy Mass with Anointing of the Sick, during which they received the sacrament from the hands of the Archbishop. In the beautiful meeting that followed, the Archbishop was very authentic, warm and approachable. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.
