The Ngoni leader had to perform the rituals as a sign of respect. A common current practice is that the deceased is placed in a coffin at the place where they died. The undertaker then collects the coffin, places it in the hearse, and drives it to the funeral home. The closest relatives and friends of the deceased follow the hearse in a funeral procession with their own cars.

Last Monday, at the funeral of the mother of Fr. Sonkhani Francis, we observed the same traditions during the ceremony. There was also dancing as part of the ceremony.

During the rainy season at St. Francis School, we plant crops every year to make use of the land. The vegetables are used in cooking to provide more delicious and nutritious food, ensuring that the children are satisfied and well fed.
