Lord, Fill Our Hearts with Your Love, That Our Lives be a Sign of Your Presence!

Lord, Fill Our Hearts with Your Love, That Our Lives be a Sign of Your Presence!

We, the sisters in Caransebes, experience every day as a time of grateful and hope in the hands of God to live our mission here in the community, in the parish community and with all who live around us.

Before Lent, is the tradition of celebrating the carnival, where we took also part. The people enjoy our presence, and we had a lot of fun together.

The coming of spring and the Earth day was also for us the sisters in community a time of working in garden, to sow lawn, to clean the ground, to do different works necessary our living here and also was an opportunity of being and have fun together.

The children in our kindergarten have in this time different activities and celebrations for spring, mother day, Easter and 16 of them are preparing to go to school in the new schoolyear.

The homecare center is also, an important project of us, because together with the people who stay our side, we are near to the people in need, we bring joy and hope in the lives of many people.

Madalin is a boy 8 years old, learn very good and has a great joy going in the school. Lives only with the grandmother, with a difficult financial situation, and have a big problem with his eyes. We helped him going to a doctor, paid the medicines, all the costs and the glasses, and probable need an operation in future. He and his grandmother were verry happy, for this great help.

Stefan is an young father of two children, hardworking, from a poor family. Last winter had a big problem with the roof of the house, from this reason the snow and rain were inside. We heard his need, and decided to help him buying the materials and repairing the roof. He was verry, verry grateful for the big help and he could on his own home to work!

So, the needs around us make us hearing the people who need our help, sometimes a smaller form or a bigger project.

This year, were five weeks between catholic Easter and orthodox, and because of many orthodox people in our projects, we organized later the goods for poor people. The rabbits of chocolate for children and the food for families are a great joy for everybody.

The Bank for Food organized an action of collecting food before Easter and we participate also as volunteers to the supermarkets, to encouraging the people to donate food for others in need.

We visited a center for 50 adults with mental handicap in Caransebes were we brought sweets and some goods they could use. The joy was great and had a lot of fun opening the presents.

We are grateful our Lord, because we feel His Love in all those, who are near to us, who help in our mission here, in prayers, with goods or financial, in every one which is with us on the way! (Sr. M. Lydia Fechetã FCJM)
