Coming Home to the Land She Loves: Sr. Jeannette van Paassen FCJM
Our sisters in Indonesia were overjoyed to welcome back Sr. Jeannette van Paassen FCJM, who had traveled from the Netherlands. Sr. Jeannette is well-known to many people in Indonesia, as she devoted nearly half a century of her life to the country as a missionary.
Since she first arrived in Indonesia in March 1969, she has developed a deep attachment to this “Land of a Thousand Islands.” However, it was not the stunning beauty of the landscape that captured her heart, but rather the simple smiles on the faces of the humble people she served with selfless love.

In Pematang Siantar, you will find the Harapan Jaya Rehabilitation Center, which she affectionately calls βher own child.β There, every step she takes and every prayer she offers serve as a living testimony that God continues to work through His chosen ones to expand the field of His mission. Through her hands, love flourishes and spreads, making the Kingdom of God present in our midst.
